Working Capital for the Companies That Build Canada

Capital Now Ventures (CNV) is a Calgary-based working capital firm. We specialize in accounts receivable factoring for B2B companies in construction, oil and gas, trucking, manufacturing, and information technology. We have been doing this for over 24 years.

What Is Factoring?

Factoring is a form of business financing where a company sells its outstanding invoices to a third party in exchange for immediate cash. Instead of waiting 30, 60, or 90 days for a customer to pay, a business gets the majority of the invoice value within 24 to 48 hours. Factoring is not a loan. There is no debt added to your balance sheet. Approval is based on the creditworthiness of the company paying your invoice, not the company applying for financing.

CNV underwrites the payor, not the payee. We look at the financial strength of the company paying the invoice — not the company receiving the money. This means businesses that would not qualify for traditional bank financing can often work with us.

Who We Work With

Construction and Subcontractors: Construction companies and subcontractors routinely wait 60 to 120 days for payment on completed work. CNV provides working capital against verified progress billings and holdback invoices.

Oil and Gas Services: Oilfield services companies, including heavy water haulers, equipment operators, and well site contractors, often operate on tight cash cycles with slow-paying energy company clients. CNV has financed oilfield services companies across Western Canada for over two decades.

Trucking and Logistics: Freight carriers and logistics companies frequently deal with 30 to 60-day payment terms from brokers and shippers. CNV provides financing that keeps trucks moving without waiting for receivables to clear.

Manufacturing and IT: Manufacturers and IT services firms with large enterprise clients often have extended payment terms built into their contracts. CNV provides liquidity against those receivables so client companies can keep growing.

How CNV Is Different

Most factoring companies run deals through a standard credit checklist. CNV takes a principles-based approach. We look at whether a transaction makes economic sense, whether the receivable is legitimate and collectible, and whether the payor has the capacity and intent to pay. This means we can often finance deals that conventional lenders or template-driven factors cannot. Decisions in hours, not weeks.
